Not Your Everyday 5K, the run/walk registrants receive weekly emails with training, nutrition, motivational and injury prevention and treatment tips as well as a Training Log Booklet that contains a one month conditioning program and an 8 week training schedule. Free educational classes and running mentoring is available in Frankfort, and open to the public.
The Pro.Active for Life 5K, sponsored by Pro.Active Therapy, benefits the United Way of Franklin County. Awards are given to not only the overall age group winners, but also those who finish first in their age group as a "first timer", someone who hasn't participated in a road race before, or not in the last 5 years. The run/walk is followed by an outdoor concert after the race on the Old Capitol Lawn, making this a fun event for the entire family. For Registration information, go to www.proactivetherapy.org, www.unitedwayfranklincounty.org or sign up online at www.gomonkeygo.org. Runners and walkers can sign up as individuals or as a team.
