39th Annual YMCA Turkey Day Family Fun Run
Race Details:
Long Run (approximately 6 miles) starts at 8:10am
Short Run & Fitness Walk ( both races approximately 2 miles) both begin at 8:30am
Turkey Trot (kids 10 and under) begins at 9:30am
Race Location :
All races start and end at the Northeast Family YMCA
Timing/Order of Finish:
Ankle bracelet chip timing will be used

Scenic and challenging course starts on Douglass Blvd at Bardstown Rd., goes down Douglass to Cherokee Park's Big Rock, areound and back to start through Highlands neighborhood's streets, many homes approaching a century in age. Run for the top trophy by ImagePro or take a stroll and check the leaves on a fine fall morning.
Enjoy a Pancake Breakfast immediately after the race at the Douglass Blvd Christian Church - 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Adults $5; $4 race participants; $3 children 14 & under. Tickets sold at the door.

The 26th Annual Pioneer Run has donated over $91,150 to local charities. The last ten years the race has been linked with the local Links for Life organization that raises money to fight breast cancer through education and research. This traditional Labor Day weekend event has been a Louisville tradition for 26 years.
This race has become well known for the great door prizes including dinner certificates and many others.

Saturday, February 13th at 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park. The first 800 runners will receive a pair Snowman Shuffle cotton running gloves. Those who register after the first 800 will receive a pair of gloves on a first come, first serve basis.
The Snowman Shuffle 6k is the third and final race of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a series of three races in December, January and February. Enter all three and receive a Polar Bear Grand Prix T-shirt, FREE!!! For more information, go the the event listing for the Polar Bear Grand Prix.

January 16th, 9:00 a.m. at the Rugby Field in Cherokee Park. Only the first 800 entrants will be guaranteed a long sleeve technical shirt ($35 value) so get your entry in early. Those who register after the first 800 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis.

Reindeer Romp 4k, Saturday, December 12th, 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park. The first 800 entrants will receive a Reindeer Romp Holiday ornament. Those who register after the first 800 will receive an ornament on a first come, first serve basis. All entrants must bring a new, unwrapped toy or apparel, preferably for a 12-15 year old, with them to receive their race packet. Without a toy, bring a $10.00 donation. All proceeds and toys will go to the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.

Four miles, USATF Sanctioned. Start on “Home
Plate” at Slugger Field, round the “Bases”
(miles 1, 2, and 3) and race for “Home Plate”
Back at Slugger Field.
EVERY runner/walker will receive one
complimentary General Admission ticket to the
race night game as the Bats take on the
Charlotte Knights at 6:15 p.m. The Overlook
Deck will be reserved for race participants at
that evening’s game.
