How did you start running? I started running in 2007 as a way to lose weight (common story right?) I hated running. So much so, that when I took a conditioning class in college and had to run a mile as part of my final, I cried, I actually cried, in front of my professor. The past version of me would think I’m cracked in more ways than one for how passionate I have become about this sport!  So in December 2007 when I finished my first race I cried again.  Not because I had to run, but because I chose to run!  And I finished that race – all 2.4 hill filled miles – with the dumbest smile plastered to my face. Life and injury have gotten in the way since then but I’ve never stopped loving that feeling you get when you finish a race or achieve a goal you’ve set.
Why do you want to mentor? As you can likely surmise from the story above, I love to run, I’m passionate about running, and more than anything I love to share that love of running with anyone and everyone who’ll let me! So it helps when those people are already willing and ready to listen.  That’s where you, my training group members and mentees, come in! I’ve been where you are now and have had TONS of questions. Shoot, I still have questions, but I’ve learned a lot and I’ll answer yours any time! Helping others meet and beat their goals brings a satisfaction that is second to very few things.
Favorite race distance:  I don’t think there’s a distance that I don’t like… but if I had to choose I would say 13.1!
Something most people don't know about you: Most people don’t know that I am a classically trained vocalist - fancy music speak for a classical singer, think Opera.  I’ve been singing since I was 4 years old!

Goal race and pace you plan to mentor:  2014 Kentucky Derby Half Marathon.  Goal pace 9:30 - 10:00.

How did you start running?  Started running in Summer 2012 with a Couch to 5K iPhone app and a treadmill.  After that, I started running on Saturday mornings with the great group at Fleet Feet.
Why do you want to mentor?  I've had the pleasure of running with folks who have shared their running wisdom with me which has been so helpful in my training.  I'm looking forward to being a mentor as a way to pay it forward and help others achieve their goals.
Favorite race distance:  Half Marathon - just half crazy for now.
Something most people don't know about you:  I'm introverted.  Just kidding...  What you see is what you get with me.  I'm pretty much 100% out there.

Goal Race and Pace you Plan to Mentor:  Boston Marathon.  6:30-7:30 Pace Group
Favorite Race to Date:  My favorite race so far was the Philadelphia Marathon.  I ran it in 2011 and it wasn't my fastest, but it's a very pretty course with some great fan support.  You get to see lots of different areas of the city.  I would highly recommend it!
How did you start running?  I first got into running as a way to get in shape for soccer during the summer before my Junior year of High School.  I had never tried Cross Country Running before, so I tried out for the team and made Varsity for the first race of the season!  After that, I was hooked.
Why do you want to mentor?  I love mentoring, because I enjoy helping people improve as runners and watching them work hard to meet their goals.  I also enjoy helping to foster the team/family environment that we have at Fleet Feet.  It's what made me feel at home when I first began running at the store 4 years ago, and it's something that is a privilege to be able to pass along as a Mentor.
Favorite race distance:  26.2 miles, no doubt!
Something most people don't know about you:  When I first started seriously running again in 2010 (after about 5 years of not running at all), it took a lot of convincing from my friends to get me to run a race over 5 Kilometers.  Now, I have a goal of completing a Full Marathon in all 50 states.
